As part of the national Hey Clay! initiative organised by the Crafts Council we are hosting a drop-in day at Oxcombe on Sunday 25 March. From 10am - 4pm you and your friends and family are all welcome to come and discover the delights of Oxcombe Pottery, have a cup of tea and experiment with clay. We can tell you all about the different techniques and materials, introduce you to the kiln room, and tell you about out future plans. No need to book in advance, just pop us in your diary and if you have some spare time then come and see Oxcombe for yourself. The venue is fully accessible (no steps, parking right outside, lavatory facilities) and hidden in a picturesque spot in the Wolds that you probably haven't discovered.
To find us. From Louth, take the Horncastle road and turn left (onto the Bluestone Heath Road) after Cadwell Park. Look out for the Oxcombe road sign. From Alford, turn off the A16 (towards Louth) towards South Ormsby (on the Bluestone Heath Road). From Horncastle head to Belchford, at the top of the hill as you leave the village turn left and look out for the Oxcombe road sign. Alternatively just pop LN9 6LU into your Sat Nav! For further information call the tutor Nicki Jarvis on 07590 040990 or email email@example.com. On the day, phone the pottery on 01507 534066. We look forward to seeing you there!
People seem to LOVE our taster sessions, normally held the first Saturday of each month. On Saturday 10 March a friendly group of people came together to enjoy an Oxcombe experience, and loved it so much they wanted a photo. These sessions offer a great opportunity to meet new people and explore clay, participants typically come away with two finished pieces (which are collected after firing). The pottery has got off to a great start for the 2017-2018 year, with lots of new recruits to pottery sessions throughout the week. If you haven't signed up and would like to join us then don't despair. We are very flexible at Oxcombe and if we have a space available we will try hard to fit you in. Everyone has started at different times so there is no problem about joining an existing group, and we're all very welcoming! Just call the pottery on 01507 533227 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
The pottery held its second annual event at the end of the summer term in July. This was a chance for attendees from different sessions to meet up and put a face to a pot! It was a balmy summer evening, with lots of fabulous food and drink and everyone had a great time.
