Class cancellations by an attendee must be made in writing or by email within working 7 days. Cancellations for Experiences such as Throwing Days and Taster Sessions will only be refunded or changed to another date if notice is given in writing or by email at least 7 working days before the Experience Day / Session is due to take place.

If a Class, Experience Day / Session, or other event is cancelled by the Pottery you will be offered an alternative date or, if this is not acceptable, a full refund.

Once you have committed to a Class we recommend that you attend the scheduled number of sessions to get the most out of the programme. If you are unable for any reason to attend all or some of the Classes in a term the fees are still payable in full.

We reserve the right to change the timing, date or tutor of the Class, Experience or other event in order to provide a high-quality service or where it is necessary for reasons beyond our control.

Oxcombe Pottery reserves the right to cancel if insufficient bookings have been received for any Class, Experience or other event and will give as much notice of this as possible. Occasionally scheduled teaching may be cancelled at short notice because of factors outside our control, such as weather or illness. In this case an alternative will be offered if this is possible, if not a refund or credit offered.

Oxcombe Pottery will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from alterations or cancellations.
  • TRANSFERS
Transfers between Classes are subject to availability and there is no guarantee that this will be possible
  • STUDIO OPENING TIMES
Oxcombe Pottery reserves the right to vary opening times.

The Pottery will be closed during half-terms and holidays, usually following the Lincolnshire School Timetable. During these closure periods it will only be open by arrangement. Oxcombe Pottery reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to close the pottery for additional periods.
  • TECHNICAL ISSUES AND BREAKAGES
Oxcombe Pottery is equipped with the highest quality kilns and equipment. Experienced and trained staff will handle and fire your ceramic work. However, by the nature of ceramics, there remains a risk of technical failure, and sometimes for various reasons breakages occur during firing for which we cannot be held responsible.
Please do not use equipment unless you have been shown how to use it and, in particular, do not open or interfere with the kilns or a firing schedule.
  • MAKING
Ceramics is an expensive process and we try hard to keep the costs down. We do not like to curb peoples’ creativity, but we have limited shelf and kiln space. You may be asked to select your preferred pieces for firing, glazing etc. if shelf and storage space becomes an issue. You will be asked to pay for fired clay per gram. All unfired items can be recycled by the studio and you will not be charged for these.

Oxcombe Pottery will do its best to fire work in a timely manner but this is dependent on many factors, including drying times and kiln space.

Oxcombe Pottery will provide a range of clay, tools, glazes, materials and equipment but it cannot provide every possibility in ceramics. If there is something we do not provide but you would like to use please ask your tutor before using it at the Pottery to see if it is possible with the facilities we provide.
  • COLLECTION OF WORKS
Experiences of Throwing / Taster Sessions and Group Sessions – you will be emailed when your pieces are ready for collection, usually this is within four weeks, but can occasionally take longer depending on our kiln firing schedule.

We request that you collect your finished work as soon as possible once you have received the pickup instructions via email to help keep our storage area clear, therefore avoiding damage.

If finished ceramic work is not collected within 2 months of the end of the Session we will store it in an outside shed. After 6 months we will regrettably have to dispose of it.

Classes – please collect your work and take it home when you attend Classes. If finished ceramic work is not collected within 2 months of the end of the Term we will store it in an outside shed. After 6 months we will regrettably have to dispose of it
