Susanna Gorst
Owner

Susanna began her pottery journey with evening classes and continued to develop her practice by taking classes at Hull College of Art and Design, followed by three years study at City Lit College in London where she was awarded a Diploma in 2019. She is now responsible for development and growth at Oxcombe, whether that is on the farm, in the studios or around the gardens and grounds.

Clare Briers
Administration

Clare has an Advanced GNVQ in Art & Design and NVQ Level 4 in Business and Administration. She worked for international defence company Northrop Grumman for a number of years and has also worked for Goldmark Gallery. Clare is now Arts & Ceramics Co-ordinator and provides all aspects of business administration for the Oxcombe enterprise.

Nicki Jarvis
Pottery

Nicki has a BA (Hons) in Ceramics from the University of the West of England and an MA in Museum Studies. She works in ceramic and textiles and most recently completed an artist residency at Mrs Smith’s Cottage Museum. Nicki was formerly curator-manager at Bilston Craft Gallery and consultant Curator for the Crafts Study Centre.

Charlotte Lauriston-Norris
Pottery

Charlotte has a BA (Hons) in Glass and Ceramics from the University of Sunderland and a BTEC in Ceramics from Harrogate College of Arts. She is a qualified teacher with extensive experience of teaching art and ceramics and enjoys building large pots. Charlotte is currently studying part-time for an MSc in Psychology.

Deanne Seaman
Pottery

Deanne obtained a Foundation Degree in 3-Dimensional Craft Design from the University of Bedfordshire in 2014 and now focuses on throwing, slip decoration and printing on clay.

Sophie Olivant
Pottery

Sophie began her exploration of ceramics at Lincoln Art College where she gained a UAL Diploma in Art & Design. Since then she has worked as an apprentice in pottery studios to develop skills as a ceramics tutor and technician. Sophie also produces work in her home studio, focusing on thrown tableware inspired by local coastlines.

Ruth Stanley
Pottery

Ruth studied Fine Art at Norwich University of the Arts and subsequently worked as Gallery Coordinator and Learning & Youth Engagement Trainee for Norfolk Museum Service. Ruth has extensive teaching experience in the education sector and gained a PGCE from Bishop Grossteste University.

Kate Wescott
Art

Kate studied at Wimbledon School of Art and the University of Brighton. Kate is an established artist and art tutor, with a special interest in drawing and figurative art and is experienced in scenic art, surface pattern design, portraiture and nature.
