Express yourself through art
Artist Kate Westcott runs weekly classes in the Crewyard – Art Barn, making creative use of the setting’s ever-changing wooded farming landscape and mature gardens as inspiration. Kate creates a calm and inspirational atmosphere, with gentle background music and access to lots of inspirational resources. Kate has a special interest in drawing and in figurative art, with experience in scenic art and surface pattern design, portraiture and nature.
When is this class?
Thursdays 9.30 am – 12.30 pm or 1 pm to 4 pm
New starters sign up for a term of between 5 and 7 weeks; we follow the local authority timetable. You can then renew for further terms for as long as you wish. Some of our attendees have been with us for years!
Classes are £28 per session and you book for the term period.
What will I learn?
All taught by Kate Westcott from a fine art perspective, Kate supports each individual to identify their own creative aspirations towards developing a confident and focused personal practice. The classes include demonstrations and an exploration of creative approaches that include drawing composition, wet and dry media, print, collage, mark-making and pattern. Attendees have the choice to participate in the exercises and exploration shared by the tutor, or work on their own ideas with bespoke support. Kate has a special interest in drawing and in figurative art, with experience in scenic art and surface pattern design, portraiture and nature.

- Drawing pencil set (B to 6B) & eraser
- A2/3 art folder, A1 if preferred
- A3/A4 sketchbook, notebook
- Water based paint set, coloured pencils
- Brushes / palette
Safety
- Please ensure your safety within the studio environment and follow our health and safety guidelines.
- These sessions are aimed at adults, younger people 13+ may attend the class however are to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Art Classes will be held in the Crew Yard Studio.
