When is this workshop?

Sunday 14th February 10-2pm / 5-7pm

*Please note – 1 booking is for 2 people, you will have a wheel each during the session*

What will I learn? 

During this Valentine’s workshop you and your partner will learn how to throw a heart shaped pot on the wheel as well as a cylindrical pot. Our Oxcombe tutor will demonstrate the technique step by step, and will support you as you explore this wonderful medium with your partner by your side. There will be the opportunity to create your very own Ghost moment, something for the memory bank! Whether you are looking for something a little different to do this valentines, or wish to come along with a friend for a few hours of calm creativity, this is the experience for you. There will be options of glazes for you to choose at the end of the session for each of your pieces.

Who is this aimed at?

This workshop is aimed at those with no/ little previous throwing experience.

What will I take away?

At the end of this experience, you will choose 2 pieces which you would like us to fire. Our studio team will fire and glaze your pieces in a beautiful stoneware glaze, and they will be ready to collect from Oxcombe  5 weeks post-workshop. Extra pots and postage available at an additional cost.

 What do I need to bring?

Oxcombe provides aprons, towels etc, but please ensure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. All refreshments included.

Safety

• Please ensure your safety within the ceramic studio environment and follow our health and safety guidelines.
• Please ensure your finger nails are trimmed this will aid with throwing on the wheel, long nails can make it much more difficult.
• These sessions are aimed at adults, younger people 13+ may attend the workshop however are to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The Pottery Course will be held in the Crew Yard Studio.
